Multilingualism Conference in Romania

Openday 2009 On European Day of Languages - 26th September 2009 – Amoba foundation organized a conference of multilingualism. Over 70 participants, students and teachers all over the country were benefitting of the beautiful environment of Szentkereszty Castle from Arcus, were the conference was held. The representatives of Bucharest and Pecs University were presenting valuable informations regarding the trends of languages teaching and learning in European educational policies. The students could inform about the requirements of language certifications and to compare different international language examination systems (Cambridge, ECL, etc.).
The videochat with Global Teenager project managers, Eliane Metni and Bob Hoffman, as well Ria Kattewilder from Holland was an interesting point of the conference. The participants could see, how the chat moments / captured by Bob/ appeared on Romania country page side. The GTP groups presentations were fascinating and represented very special moments of the conference. The student of Wesselenyi Reformed High School recitated a beautiful poem in Hungarian and Romanian , the group of Economical College were sharing the experience of a common project with Corlaer School from Netherlands, the Tudor Vladimirescu High School and the Reformed High School students pleased us with interesting presentations on multilingualism. Opdenday 2009 The appreciation of the activities of GTP groups and rewording is always part of the open day’s program. This year, the Best GTP School prize was won for the third time consecutively by the Economical College from Buzau. The YooToo club inside school enrich with a good performance videoprojector. The conference ended with a nice musical program offered by the musicians of the Brasov Philharmonic Orchestra.
