Amőba Foundation was established by Amőba Learning
Center in 1996 with the set purpose of
promoting
ICT skills throughout Covasna County. The Foundation has become well known
through its education supporting programmes and activities promoting
knowledge and skills. The Health Management Courses coordinated by
Amőba Foundation have given support to about a hundred GPs in the
transformation process of the surgery system. At Târgu Secuiesc
hundreds of young and middle-aged employees gain workplace promotion
after attending the Foundation's high standard ICT courses. It also
supports the training of teachers from Mikes Kelemen High School in
languages, ICT and Economics. Amőba Foundation helps teachers and
students in Covasna and the neighbouring counties to obtain their
ECDL certificate.
For the results achieved in education, in 2000 Amőba
Foundation was awarded the prize "For the Freedom of Culture"
by the General Inspectorate of Education and Culture in Covasna
County.
